State rugby teams experience mixed luck

Orissa reached quarterfinals before losing to Mumbai Magicians in the quarterfinals of the All-India Under-20 Rugby Football Tournaments at Mumbai today. The State side led 7-5 before being beaten 10-7 by the host team in the main category of the 12-a-side tournament.

Earlier in the league round, Orissa trounced Kolkata Cricket and Football Club 19-5, Jammu & Kashmir 29-0 and Chennai Cheetah 24-0 to storm into the last-eight round. However, Orissa as a state experienced mixed fortune as Bhubaneswar-based Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) emerged champions in the bowl category, defeating Mumbai Schools in the final.
